A lot of people deserve some mahalos (thanks) in making Hawaiian Style Shave Ice a reality. They are in no particular order, except for the first two. Carla – my wife deserves the most credit for letting me try this business. It started as a hair-brained idea she wasn't too sure about but she's a believer and a great partner as well. Without her encouragement and support HSSI wouldn’t be. Thanks, Love! My employees are the best in the world! I readily admit that this whole dream of mine would be a flop without the great employees that put up with me. I appreciate them all--past and present--and thank them for their great work! Geoff is a friend who just finished his MBA at BYU. He has helped a lot with P.R. & marketing. I appreciate being able to bounce ideas off of him and get some great insights. Marv’s class – I took an awesome class on leadership at Shenandoah University taught by Dr. Marv Josaitis. It was one of the most valuable academic experiences in my life. Many mahalos to Marv, Sarah, and Mike, for help in shaping many of my ideas about HSSI and believing it could really work. Many others have helped along the way with advice, encouragement, and feedback. I'm not afraid to ask others for help and I really appreciate everyone who has contributed--big and small. Mahalo! There have also been a few people who have laughed in disbelief when I told them about my idea for a shave ice stand—you all get charged double for your shave ice! Nah, just come and see how much fun we’re having and enjoy some Hawaiian Style Shave Ice on me. |
